Roulette and American Roulette

In modern times and modern casinos, roulette is one of the most popular games of chance. A casino and especially an online casino is not complete if it does not offer players as many versions of the roulette game. Currently, there are many variations of the roulette game, such as American Roulette, European Roulette, French Roulette, and Auto Lightning Roulette.

Brief History of Roulette Game

The origin of the roulette game is unclear. It is known that roulette was invented in the seventeenth century, but many details are unknown. Some sources claim that a monk invented roulette, and others claim that roulette is derived from a game from the Middle Ages called the Wheel of Luck. This Wheel of Luck that decided the good fate or the bad fate was turned by the Goddess of Luck that was tied to the eyes. In this way, the determination of the destiny of the people was purely accidental; the people could do nothing to change their fate.

However, the inventor of the first primitive roulette wheel was the scientist, Blasé Pascal. Wanting to create a mechanism that has a continuous rotation, he managed to reinvent the wheel. But this time, it’s a roulette wheel. Also, Blasé Pascal wrote a composition on the history of roulette in which he explains the continuity of turning this wheel, thus applying probability theory in gambling.

Thus, until it reached the current 36-number form, the roulette wheel went through several transformations, sometimes based on 38 numbers or in other versions on 18 numbers.

Roulette in America

In the beginning, in America, there were versions of the roulette that contained numbers from 1 to 28, plus different symbols like the eagle or double zero. Compared to European roulette, betting on American roulette was easier, but the game was much more accelerated and less civilized, with participants looking to cheat the bank or vice versa. Being initially played only on steamboats in New Orleans; later, the roulette was adopted and taken over by other western cities. Currently, American roulette still holds the zero and double zero symbols, being very popular and loved in online casinos.
